Teide Volcano

This time we are going to tell you about the famous Teide Volcano, a natural wonder with a unique beauty all over the world. It is the most outstanding volcano in the Canary Islands, the third highest on the planet and one of the most impressive.

Its geological and morphological characteristics are unique. It is located in the centre of the island and has an altitude of 3,718 metres above sea level. It has the highest peak in the whole of Spain and, due to its altitude, is almost always covered in snow on its slopes.

It is home to unique species that you will only find in the park and nowhere else, as well as species endemic to the Canary Islands. There is an abundance of small insects that you should be on the lookout for and treat with kindness because you won’t see them anywhere else.

You can’t leave the park without taking the cable car. You can board at different stations, the base is at an altitude of 2,300 metres and the highest at 3,500 metres. You will get really high, just imagine what you can see from up there. But wait, you can go even higher. If you get off the cable car at the highest point and continue the ascent on foot, you can reach the top of the volcano.

The path is demanding but the feeling of being at the top is incomparable, you will be standing on the highest point in all of Spain. You will have Tenerife at your feet and you will be able to observe the islands of La Palma, El Hierro and La Gomera from a privileged point.
