Shopping malls in Santa Cruz and huge choice of brands will not leave indifferent even experienced shoppers. The main shopping centers
All the main Santa Cruz de Tenerife shopping centers are located just near the central bus station. That means that you will not need to waste your time looking for the right place and will concentrate on the main thing – shopping. If you arrive to Santa Cruz by bus, the first thing you see will be a huge shopping mall – el Corte Ingles. Nearby you will find two more shopping centers: el Meridiano and Tres de Mayo. Now we will say a bit more about each of them.
El Corte Ingles
El Corte Ingles is a famous Spanish shopping malls network with stores all over spain. Here you can buy everything, from cosmetics and clothes till electronics, interior decoration and food. For non EU residents El Corte Ingles provides discount for some brands. To get it you just need to go with your passport to the tourist information point.
In El Corte Ingles you will find all the most popular Spanish and international brands:
Adolfo Domínguez, Armani, Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera, Custo Barcelona, Desigual, Diesel, DKNY, Fred Perry, Furla, Gloria Ortiz, Guess, Hugo Boss, Karen Millen, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, Levi’s, Nike, New Balance, Pandora, Purificación García, Reebok, Ugg Australia and many others.
Tres de Mayo
Just next to El Corte Ingles you will see another shopping center – Tres de Mayo. It’s worth your attention first because of Adolfo Domínguez and Puruficación García huge stores. These luxury Spanish brands offer high quality clothes, bags, shoes and accessories.
Tres de Mayo shopping center will be also interesting for those, who want to buy electronics – the world-famous Media Market is there as well.
In this area you will find one more shopping mall of Santa Cruz de Tenerife – El Meridiano. It attracts the attention of tourists and locals by many well-known inexpensive brands. Here you will find Zara, Pull&Bear, Calzedonia, Bershka, Massimo Dutti and, of course, famous Primark.
One more place which is worth your attention is a famous shopping street Calle Castillo. It is situated in the center of the city, near Plaza España. So by the way you could make a bit of sightseeing. Coming back to the shopping, Calle Castillo is full of internationally famous and some local shops, where you can find everything, starting with clothes and finishing with the Canarian food specialities.
Mercado de Nuestra Señora de Africa
Walking to Calle Castillo from big shopping malls area, pass by this famous market. The authentic and very special building itself deserves your attention. Besides you can buy their fresh fruits and vegetables, spices and other Spanish and Canarian products. Please note, that the market closes at about 2 PM.
If you are lucky to visit Tenerife at the period of sales, you can buy things with 30%- 60% discount. Due to reduced Tax prices on Tenerife are in general a bit lower than in mainland Spain, so with additional discounts you can make a good and reasonable shopping. Dated of sales are: January 7th – March 6th and July 1st- August 31st
Working hourIn general shopping centers and shops in Santa Cruz de Tenerife are open from Monday to Saturday. The big shopping malls are open without a break, but some shops in the city are closing for siesta. Sunday is not the best day to visit Santa Crus, everything is closed, including restaurants and cafeterias.
