If you choose Tenerife as a destination for your vacations, probably you have heard about the neighbourhood island – La Gomera, which also belongs to Canary Islands.
Here we offer you the most active and challenging way to discover this beautiful island, famous for its nature and history – to do the trekking excursion.
The excursion will start early in the morning. We will take a ferry departing from the harbour of Los Cristianos. Once arrived to San Sebastián de la Gomera – the capital, we will take a bus, which will bring us up to the mountains.
Our hike will start in the National Park Garajonay, which was declared the World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The park is famous for its incredible subtropical laurisilva forest. Millions of years ago this kind of forest was covering almost all the Southern Europe.
You will have a great opportunity to explore this unique treasure of the nature.
All the way during the hike you will be accompanied by the professional guide, who will tell you about La Gomera, its people, history, flora and fauna. We will hike on the forest paths and reach the rural Canarian village.There we will make a break to try typical Canarian specialities.
After the break we will take a bus and make an excursion around the island to discover a bit more and in the afternoon will return to the capital to take a ferry back to Tenerife.
Please note that it is necessary to take your passport with you for the ferry access. The ferry cost is already included to the excursion price.
Also be sure that you wear comfortable rugged shoes and take warm clothes with you.
The trekking will take us around 2-3 hours, so please take enough drinking water (at least 1.5 litres per person).
During our excursion we will make a stop at Canarian restaurant to try typical food. The price (appx. 10 euros) is not included.
