Nowadays, the town has a larger quay, created to meet the needs of a growing population. San Juan enjoys a pleasant climate all year round and little wind thanks to the cliff that protects the bay.

The lime kiln near Playa San Juan is an icon of the town. Although it is no longer in operation, it was an important part of Tenerife’s history. Thousands of blocks of lime were made here, which were used to build the old houses of the town.
