Playa de Los Gigantes Beach

Also known as Playa los Guios, it is a lovely beach blessed by nature. Ideal to go and enjoy a great day, splendid views, radiant sun, volcanic rocks and crystal clear waters.

It is located next to the tourist centre of Acantilado de los Gigantes, in the northwest of Tenerife.

It has a high occupancy rate during most of the year.

It offers a unique view, you will get a panoramic view of the Acantilado de los Gigantes. This is a majestic landscape, let yourself be carried away and contemplate the wonders of nature and the grace of being able to enjoy it.

Next to the beach is a marina and a village full of sailors and passionate fishermen. We are talking about the village of Los Gigantes, the last coastal town with inhabitants in the area. It is a quiet village ideal for resting and spending a few days full of peace and quiet.

In this part of the island, the sea is calm and windless, which makes it a quiet beach to rest and enjoy with the children.

Sand

It has very fine black sand. This characteristic is due to its volcanic origins, making it an extraordinary beach of singular beauty.

There are also some rocky areas, but away from the entrance to the beach.

Blue Flag

It belongs to the beaches with the Blue Flag distinction, which means that its waters are suitable for bathers and that the beach offers all the services for the enjoyment of visitors.

This distinction only applies to beaches with sanitary water quality and excellent services.

On the coast there is a lifeguard post and lifeguards for the safety of bathers.

We urge you to be cautious and pay attention to the colour of the flags indicating the state of the water.

The port of Los Gigantes next to the beach offers trips and excursions out to sea for whale and dolphin watching. During the walk you can admire the magnificence of the cliffs.

Excursions include visits to the beach and ravine of Masca and to Punta de Teno, one of the most hidden and unknown spots on the island.

Hotels and Restaurants

Near the beach you will find many restaurants offering fish recipes. You will also find some shops, tobacconists, grocery shops and supermarkets.

In the village you can rent a flat or stay in one of the hotels.

How to get to the beach

To get to the beach we suggest renting a car to the municipality of Santiago de Teide, where you will find signs on the roads indicating the route to the cliffs.
